Africa
A really rewarding project and a bike to take on the most epic of challenges.
The brief was a bike capable of riding the length of the African Continent. Being comfortable whilst robust and easily serviceable.
Step in the masters of Titanium Frames at Enigma Bicycle Works for the frame.
Handbuilt wheels including a SON front hub dynamo to charge devices whilst riding.
Ultegra Di2 Groupset for high performance but reliability too.
And an specially selected Ergon Saddle for ultra distance with the riders anatomy at the forefront of our selections.
Recurring Dream #001
This was a long time in the making and signified the birth of the Fahrworks Project.
Chief "Dreamer" Rich had lusted after a frame and bike like this since childhood and when approached by Parlee to work together it was time to realise this dream.
The Latest RZ7 Frameset complete with completely integrated and hidden hoses and wiring and perfectly selected bars, stem and seatpost, even the Garmin mount is bespoke.
Full Dura-Ace Di2 Groupset and matching Carbon Wheelset.
Topped off with a groundbreaking FiZik 3D printed saddle and Rich's favourite Enve bar-tape.
The Prequel Project
Even before the concept of Fahrworks was fully formed, we were already building and fitting custom bikes. This iconic Colnago C60 frame was built up with one eye each on both weight and cost. The aim was to use it for the mountainous stretches of an attempt on the Race Across America. With temperatures ranging from 50Degrees C in the desert to -10 over the Rocky Mountains, mechanical gears and calliper brakes were selected.
The resulting build both looks and rides incredibly well and has stayed as the owners go-to bike for almost every condition.
The Unicorn
As the Cycling industry went into meltdown, with demand massively exceeding demand, we really had to get creative to make this build happen. The guys at Parlee Cycles overcame some difficulties to get a platinum "Rolling Chasis" to us including finishing kit and Enve Foundation wheel-set, then we managed to pull together a full SRAM AXS Red groupset with the eventual owner even helping find some components. A hard fought one, but another dream realised.
Ti Anodised Perfection
Another build for one of the Fahrworks team. This time the amazing craftsmen at Enigma Bicycle Works went wild with the anodising and the results are incredible. A Titanium race geometry frame with a full-spectrum anodised fade from the head-tube. This was then built with a groupset and wheels that the rider already owned, creating a dream bike with a frame that they had always wanted without breaking the bank.
